 "
Srivani Jade has the rare quality of a North Indian Classical vocalist of being accessible to western ears without "dumbing down" her music. No techno here. I saw her live a couple of months ago in San Francisco, and she captivated me and my 5 year old son as well. She has the sweetness of tone of Lakshmi Shankar, and is of the new generation of singers who seem to be able to bridge cultural gaps. Her dedication to Meera, the 15th century female mystic, who dedicated her life to Krishna adds to her interest as a musician. Like all classical Indian music, this is medicinal; the yoga of sound. If you play it, you will be allowing Srivani Jade to practice a healing treatment on your soul. There is nothing New Age about this concept; it is older than Christian chants by far, dating back thousands of years, to the vedic chants. Enjoy."
