Pt. Parameshwar Hegde is an internationally known master performer of Hindustani Khayal Music.Tonal purity, brilliant taan and bol layakari (rhythmic play of lyrics), and sweetness of sound are key features of his music. Over the course of his training with the great Pt. Basavaraj Rajguru for over 15 years, Hegde-ji imbibed the richness and variety of the Kirana, Patiala and Gwalior Gharanas. Over years of experimentation and concert experience, he has evolved a style that is at once rich in melody and expressiveness (bhaava) and versatile. He also has a vast repertoire of Kannada Padas and Vachanas (devotional poetry of 12th-15th century AD Kannada saint composers) and Bhajans.

In 1994, he founded the Rajguru Smrithi Trust in Bangalore-- a non-profit that show-cases upcoming classical music talent and also brings well acknowledged artists to perform in the area. The Parameshwar Hegde Music Academy, established in 2004, provides an organic environment for learning in the traditional guru-shishya  parampara, and conducts monthly open-air baithaks where the entire student community comes together to enjoy featured performances of students and the Guru.

He has performed in all the major music festivals of India--Sawai Gangharva Mahotsav in Pune, Tansen Samaroh in Gwalior, Saptak in Ahmedabad, to name a few--and has toured extensively in the USA. He is an A-grade artist of All India Radio, and a very sought after performer on Indian television.
